The Jobs Fund: Employment Grants
The Jobs Fund was developed as a direct response to the economic downturn and aims to promote 6,300 jobs by March 2015 with 4,000 jobs to be created by March 2014. A budget of almost £19 million has been set aside to implement a range of temporary measures to stimulate new job creation over the next four years and help to contribute to a sustainable economy that benefits all.
If you are thinking of undertaking an investment project that will create new sustainable jobs, your business could get an employment grant, payable for every new job created, providing the median (middle) salary for the new jobs created is less than the Northern Ireland private sector median. You will need to demonstrate that your business intends to sell outside Northern Ireland and is planning to increase employment.
As part of the range of measures available under Boosting Business:
- We have increased the amount of grant payable per employee.
- We will pay your business the full grant for each new employee one month after they have started employment.
- We have streamlined the application and approval process for offers up to £100,000 so that your business can access the funds it needs, faster.
Specific financial incentives are also available as part of the Invest NI Start-Up Support Programme for individuals wishing to start a business, either resident in one of the 36 Neighbourhood Renewal Areas (NRA), or young people currently Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).
